Resurface. Stimulate. Retighten.
Over time, the natural ageing process and exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun causes the accumulation of pigments in the skin leading to age spots, hyperpigmentation or freckles (Including brown spots, liver spots, age spots, sun spots, sunburn freckles, lentigos, or senile/solar lentigines).
Skin pigmentation can also occur during pregnancy due to hormonal changes in the body. These marks are in areas most often exposed to the sun, particularly the hands, face, shoulders, arms, decollete and forehead (and the head if bald) and range in colour from light brown to red or black.
Most are harmless, but all are ageing and may be unattractive. Café au lait and other pigmented birthmarks are localised areas of increased pigmentation in the skin and are present at birth.

There are the 4 most common types of Pigmentation:
These are small dark brown patches, sometimes called sunspots, which tend to develop on sun-exposed areas of skin such as the forehead, around the eyes, or elsewhere on the face or neck. They can also occur on the backs of the hands or the arms.
When larger patches of hyperpigmentation occur these are called melasma. In women, they are often linked to the use of hormonal contraception or HRT.Hyperpigmentation can also occur as a result of pregnancy hormones when it is known as chloasma – often referred to as ‘the mask of pregnancy’.
This occurs when hyperpigmentation follows on from an area of inflammation on the skin, for example, following a flare up of acne lesions, or eczema. This results in a patch of discoloured skin. It can also develop after laser treatment or a chemical peel.
Sunburn freckles, also known as solar lentigines or sunspots, are small, dark spots that can appear on the skin as a result of sunburn or excessive sun exposure. These freckles are more common in individuals with fair skin, as their skin tends to be more susceptible to sunburn.
