Looking for that perfect radiant complexion? Well, it's not rocket science!
Our expert aesthetician, Kristina, has some tips that are easy to follow and will take your glow game to the next level:
1.Sunscreen is your BFF! The sun is the number one reason for aging. It can cause wrinkles, sagging, and hyperpigmentation. Even if you're not outside, UV rays can still penetrate through windows and computer screens. So, wear SPF daily to keep those harmful rays at bay.
2.Drink water, and more water! Our skin needs water to stay plump and hydrated. But, for every cup of coffee or sugary drink, you need to add an extra glass of water. Water helps our body to function properly, and it's crucial for flushing out toxins.
3.Exercise, sweat and have sex! Yup, you read that right! Exercise helps increase blood circulation, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to the skin. Sweating cleanses your skin and helps keep your pores unclogged. And regular sex releases hormones like estrogen, which boosts collagen production and strengthens fine lines.
4.Eat healthily and locally! A balanced organic diet will provide your body with all the nutrients it needs to keep your skin looking youthful. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables that are locally sourced and high in antioxidants and vitamin C will protect your skin from the inside out. And, don't forget the fatty acids found in fish, nuts, and seeds to keep your skin hydrated and plump.
5.Get enough sleep: Sleep is essential for your overall health, including your skin health. Lack of sleep can cause dark circles, puffiness, and other signs of fatigue on your face. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night to help your skin look its best.
6.Use products with antioxidants: Antioxidants like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and green tea can help protect your skin from free radicals, which can damage skin cells and cause premature aging. Look for products that contain these ingredients to help keep your skin looking young and healthy.
7.Cleanse your skin regularly: Cleansing your skin removes dirt, oil, and impurities that can clog your pores and lead to breakouts. Make sure to choose a gentle cleanser that's appropriate for your skin type.
8.Avoid smoking: Smoking not only damages your overall health, but it can also have a negative impact on your skin's appearance. Smoking narrows the blood vessels in your skin, which decreases blood flow and can lead to a dull, uneven complexion.
9.Be gentle with your skin: Avoid harsh scrubs or aggressive cleansing techniques that can damage your skin's delicate barrier. Instead, use a gentle cleanser and exfoliate no more than once or twice a week. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel and apply moisturizer immediately after cleansing to lock in hydration.
10.Use a silk pillowcase for better skin health. Silk pillowcases have a smoother texture than traditional cotton ones, which can help reduce friction and irritation on your skin while you sleep. Additionally, silk is less absorbent than cotton, meaning it won't draw moisture away from your skin and hair like cotton can. This can help keep your skin hydrated and prevent wrinkles and fine lines from forming.
Follow these tips, and you'll have a complexion that will make others envious!
